filetity decodes each image with the browser's own codec, redraws it at the size you pick, and re-encodes it in the format it arrived in. JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG. Nothing is uploaded.

Is it free?
Yes, with no watermark and no page limit.
Does it need an account?
No. There is no account system.
Is my file processed on my device?
Yes. The file is read by your browser and never uploaded. There is no server to send it to.
What formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP in. The same format out, one file per image, or a ZIP when you resize several.
What are the limits?
No image count limit. Images are only ever made smaller; the tool will not enlarge one.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes, on any modern mobile browser. Large files are limited by the memory the phone gives the browser.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded. The tool keeps working with no network connection.
Can I make an image bigger?
No, deliberately. Enlarging cannot add detail that was never captured, it only invents pixels and makes the result look soft. Every option here fits an image inside a size, and an image already smaller than that is left exactly as it is.
Will it stretch or crop my image?
Neither. The proportions are kept, and the image is fitted inside the size you choose, so the longest edge lands on your number and the other edge follows.
Does resizing change the format or the quality?
The format is kept. A JPG comes back as a JPG, and because JPG is lossy it is re-encoded, which is why the quality control is there. PNG is lossless and comes back unchanged in quality.
