filetity redraws the image onto a canvas with the horizontal or vertical axis reversed, then saves that. The mirror happens about the picture's own centre, so nothing shifts or gets cropped. Nothing is uploaded.

- No. There is no account system.
- Is my file processed on my device?
- Yes. The file is read by your browser and never uploaded. There is no server to send it to.
- What formats are supported?
- JPG, PNG and WebP in. The result comes back in the same kind of format: PNG stays PNG, everything else is saved as JPG. One file out, or a ZIP for several.
- What are the limits?
- Mirrors both ways, and turns in quarters as well. Flipping never changes the pixel dimensions.
- Does it work on mobile?
- Yes, on any modern mobile browser. Large files are limited by the memory the phone gives the browser.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page has loaded. The tool keeps working with no network connection.
- Why does my selfie look backwards?
- Most phone cameras show you a mirrored preview, because that is what you are used to seeing in a mirror, and then some save the unmirrored version. The photo is correct and your face is simply not what you expected. Mirroring left to right here gives you back the version you saw while taking it.
- What is the difference between flipping and rotating?
- Rotating turns the picture, so a quarter turn puts the top edge on the side. Flipping mirrors it, so left and right swap while up stays up. Text gives it away instantly: rotated text is readable sideways, mirrored text is not readable at all.
- Does flipping lose quality?
- The flip itself does not, it only moves pixels. Saving a JPG re-encodes it, which costs a little. Flip a PNG and nothing is lost.
