- Is my file processed on my device?
- Yes. The file is read by your browser and never uploaded. There is no server to send it to.
- What formats are supported?
- JPG in. PNG out, one file per image, or a ZIP when you convert several.
- What are the limits?
- No image count limit. Very large images are bounded by the memory your browser will give a canvas.
- Does it work on mobile?
- Yes, on any modern mobile browser. Large files are limited by the memory the phone gives the browser.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page has loaded. The tool keeps working with no network connection.
- Will this improve the quality of my photo?
- No, and no tool can. Whatever the JPG already lost is gone. PNG stops any further loss from this point on, which is why it is the right format to edit in, but it cannot put back detail that was never stored.
- Why is the PNG bigger than the JPG?
- Because it is lossless. PNG stores every pixel exactly instead of approximating, and for a photograph that usually means several times the size. That is the trade you are making on purpose.
- Does this give my image a transparent background?
- No. PNG supports transparency, but a JPG has none to carry over, so the result is fully opaque. Removing a background is a different job from changing the format.
