- Free: Yes, with no page limit. The only thing added to the file is the text you typed.
- Account required: No. There is no account system.
- Processed on device: Yes. The file is read by your browser and never uploaded. There is no server to send it to.
- Formats: PDF in, PDF out. One file at a time.
- Limits: No page limit. One line of text, up to 80 characters. Text only. It cannot stamp an image or a logo.
- Mobile: Yes, on any modern mobile browser. Large files are limited by the memory the phone gives the browser.
- Offline: Yes, after you have used it once. Your browser keeps what the tool needs, so it then works with no network connection.

## Questions

### Does a watermark stop people copying my PDF?

No. A watermark is drawn content, the same as any other text on the page, and anyone with the right tool can take it off. It marks a document, it does not protect one. If you need a file nobody can open without a password, use Protect PDF instead.

### Can this remove a watermark someone else added?

No. It only adds one. A watermark that was drawn into a page is part of that page's content, and pulling it out means damaging whatever sits under it.

### Will the stamp land correctly on landscape or A3 pages?

Yes. Both the position and the size are worked out from each page's own dimensions and rotation, so a document mixing A4, A3 and landscape pages gets a stamp that fits every one of them.

### Can I watermark only some of the pages?

Yes. Tick the pages you want and the rest are left untouched. With nothing ticked, every page is stamped.

### How faint is the stamp, and can I change it?

It starts at 20 percent opacity in grey, the usual look for a draft mark, and the slider goes up to 80 percent. Black, red and blue are the other colours, and Small, Medium and Large set the text height at 5, 8 or 12 percent of the page's shorter side.
