The file is read by your browser and never uploaded. There is no server to send it to. - Formats: Plain text in. Nothing comes out: this is a reading surface, not a converter, so there is no file to save. - Limits: A constant rate, which is what every physical autocue does. It does not listen to you and speed up or slow down to match, so if you drift you nudge the speed or tap Back 10s. Speed runs 110 to 170 words a minute, the type has three sizes, and both can be changed while paused. - Mobile: Yes, on any modern mobile browser. Large files are limited by the memory the phone gives the browser. - Offline: Yes, completely. There is nothing to download and nothing to send, so it works on a plane or in a studio with no signal. ## Questions ### Is my script uploaded anywhere? No. It is typed into a box on this page and stays in the tab. There is no account, no save, and no server behind this tool, so closing the tab is what deletes it. That also means a confidential script, an earnings call or an unreleased announcement is as safe here as in a text editor on your own machine. ### Can I mirror the text for a teleprompter glass? Yes. A real prompter reflects the screen off a sheet of glass in front of the lens, which reverses the text, so a mirrored screen reads correctly through it. The option is on the setup page rather than in the reading controls, on purpose: it changes what you see, and it is something to confirm before the camera is rolling rather than something to hit mid-take. ### What happens if I lose my place? Tap anywhere. That pauses and brings up the controls in one go, because wanting a control and wanting to stop are the same moment. From there you can resume, change the speed, or jump back ten seconds. On a keyboard the space bar does the same and the left and right arrows move you ten seconds either way. ### How fast should I set it? 130 words a minute is the default and it suits most prepared scripts. Public speaking guidance clusters between 120 and 150; news reading is nearer 150 to 170, and anything technical is better slower. Read the first paragraph at the default, and if you are waiting for the text, raise it. ### Does it work on a phone on a tripod? Yes, and that is the case the reading screen is designed for. It goes fullscreen with a three second countdown so you can lift your eyes to the lens, and while it is running there is nothing on the screen but the words, so no toolbar can appear in shot.
