# Reorder PDF pages

Reorder PDF pages by dragging them, or with arrow keys, and save a new PDF. Your original is untouched and nothing is uploaded.

## Capabilities

- Free: Yes, with no watermark and no page limit.
- Account required: No. There is no account system.
- Processed on device: Yes. The file is read by your browser and never uploaded. There is no server to send it to.
- Formats: PDF in, PDF out, holding the same pages in a different order.
- Limits: No page limit. Every page can be moved; the first 24 get a rendered thumbnail, and past that pages show as numbered tiles so a 200-page document stays quick to open.
- Mobile: Yes, on any modern mobile browser. Large files are limited by the memory the phone gives the browser.
- Offline: Yes, after you have used it once. Your browser keeps what the tool needs, so it then works with no network connection.

## Questions

### How do I move a page?

With the arrow buttons under each thumbnail, which move a page one place at a time. They are the control rather than dragging because dragging is invisible to anyone using a keyboard.

### Will reordering make the file bigger or blurrier?

Neither. The pages are copied into a new document, not photographed and redrawn, so nothing is re-encoded. Text stays text and images keep the data they arrived with.

### Does it change my original file?

No. Nothing is written back. The original stays exactly as it is on your disk and the reordered version downloads alongside it.

### Can I remove or turn pages here as well?

Not on this page. Removing pages and rotating them are separate tools, linked below, because a page that does one job well beats a page with four buttons on it.

### Can I drag pages instead of using the arrows?

Yes, on a desktop. The thumbnails can be dragged onto each other and the page lands where you dropped it. The arrows stay because dragging does not exist for a keyboard or a screen reader.

### What if the PDF has a password?

It is refused at the door with a message saying so. Remove the password with Unlock PDF, reorder, then lock it again with the same tool if it needs one.
