## Capabilities

- Free: Yes, with no watermark and no page limit.
- Account required: No. There is no account system.
- Processed on device: Yes. The file is read by your browser and never uploaded. There is no server to send it to.
- Formats: PDF in. PNG out, one image per page. A single page downloads on its own, several arrive as a ZIP. Backgrounds can be white or transparent.
- Limits: No page limit. PNG files are considerably larger than JPG, so a long document at 300 DPI can run to hundreds of megabytes.
- Mobile: Yes, on any modern mobile browser. Large files are limited by the memory the phone gives the browser.
- Offline: Yes, after you have used it once. Your browser keeps what the tool needs, so it then works with no network connection.

## Questions

### Should I use PNG or JPG for this?

PNG for anything with text, diagrams, charts or line art, because it keeps hard edges exactly. JPG for pages that are mostly photographs, because the file will be a fraction of the size and you will not see the difference. If you are unsure and the page has any text on it, use PNG.

### Can I get a transparent background?

Yes, and it is the main reason to choose PNG here. Set the background to transparent in the settings and anything the page leaves blank stays see-through, so a logo or diagram can be dropped straight onto another design. JPG has no transparency channel, so it cannot do this at any quality.

### Why are the files so much bigger than JPG?

Because PNG is lossless. It stores every pixel exactly instead of approximating, so nothing softens and nothing gets halos, and the file is several times larger. That is the trade you are making deliberately.

### Can I convert some pages and not others?

Yes. The range box takes 1-5, 8 style input and only those pages are drawn. Leave it empty for every page. If what you typed makes no sense to the tool, it falls back to every page rather than producing nothing.

### Why does the conversion fail on a large page?

Canvas memory. A page rendered at 300 DPI is a bitmap of millions of pixels, and PNG keeps every one of them, so a poster-sized page can exceed what the browser will hold. Drop to 150 DPI and try again, which is what the failure message suggests.
