## Capabilities

- Free: Yes, with no watermark and no page limit.
- Account required: No. There is no account system.
- Processed on device: Yes. The file is read by your browser and never uploaded. There is no server to send it to.
- Formats: JPG, PNG and WebP in. The same format out, one file per image, or a ZIP when you resize several.
- Limits: No image count limit. Images are only ever made smaller; the tool will not enlarge one.
- Mobile: Yes, on any modern mobile browser. Large files are limited by the memory the phone gives the browser.
- Offline: Yes, after you have used it once. Your browser keeps what the tool needs, so it then works with no network connection.

## Questions

### Can I make an image bigger?

No, deliberately. Enlarging cannot add detail that was never captured, it only invents pixels and makes the result look soft. Every option here fits an image inside a size, and an image already smaller than that is left exactly as it is.

### Will it stretch or crop my image?

Neither. The proportions are kept, and the image is fitted inside the size you choose, so the longest edge lands on your number and the other edge follows.

### Does resizing change the format or the quality?

The format is kept. A JPG comes back as a JPG, and because JPG is lossy it is re-encoded, which is why the quality control is there. PNG is lossless and comes back unchanged in quality.

### What if I type both a width and a height?

The image is fitted inside both. With the lock on, changing one box updates the other to keep the proportions. With it off, the tool still refuses to stretch: it scales so that neither edge exceeds its number, and the smaller of the two results wins.

### Can I resize to exactly 1080 by 1080?

Only if the image is already square. The tool fits the picture inside the numbers you give and never stretches or crops it, so a 4000 by 3000 photo asked for 1080 by 1080 comes out 1080 by 810. Crop it square first with the Crop Image tool, then resize it here.
