## Capabilities

- Free: Yes, with no watermark and no page limit.
- Account required: No. There is no account system.
- Processed on device: Yes. The file is read by your browser and never uploaded. There is no server to send it to.
- Formats: JPG, PNG and WebP in. The result comes back in the format it went in as: a JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG, a WebP stays a WebP. One file out, or a ZIP for several.
- Limits: Mirrors both ways, and turns in quarters as well. Flipping never changes the pixel dimensions.
- Mobile: Yes, on any modern mobile browser. Large files are limited by the memory the phone gives the browser.
- Offline: Yes, after you have used it once. Your browser keeps what the tool needs, so it then works with no network connection.

## Questions

### Why does my selfie look backwards?

Most phone cameras show you a mirrored preview, because that is what you are used to seeing in a mirror, and then some save the unmirrored version. The photo is correct and your face is simply not what you expected. Mirroring left to right here gives you back the version you saw while taking it.

### What is the difference between flipping and rotating?

Rotating turns the picture, so a quarter turn puts the top edge on the side. Flipping mirrors it, so left and right swap while up stays up. Text gives it away instantly: rotated text is readable sideways, mirrored text is not readable at all.

### Does flipping lose quality?

The flip itself does not, it only moves pixels. Saving a JPG re-encodes it, which costs a little. Flip a PNG and nothing is lost.

### Can I flip several images at once?

Yes. Every image you drop gets the same flip and they download together as a ZIP, each named with -flipped. A PNG stays PNG and is written exactly; a JPG is written again at quality 92.

### Why is the button disabled?

Because nothing has changed yet. Choose a mirror, or a turn, and the button comes on. Saving an image you have not altered would only re-encode it for no reason.
