## Capabilities

- Free: Yes, with no watermark and no page limit.
- Account required: No. There is no account system.
- Processed on device: Yes. The file is read by your browser and never uploaded. There is no server to send it to.
- Formats: PDF in, one PDF out containing only the pages you chose.
- Limits: No page limit. Every page is selectable; the first 24 get a rendered thumbnail, and past that pages show as numbered tiles so a 200-page document stays quick to open.
- Mobile: Yes, on any modern mobile browser. Large files are limited by the memory the phone gives the browser.
- Offline: Yes, after you have used it once. Your browser keeps what the tool needs, so it then works with no network connection.

## Questions

### How is this different from splitting a PDF?

Split gives you several files, usually one per page. Extract gives you one file containing the pages you picked. If you want pages 3, 7 and 12 together in a single document, this is the tool.

### Does it change my original file?

No. Nothing is written back. The original stays exactly as it is on your disk and you get a new file alongside it.

### Will the text still be selectable?

Yes. The pages are copied, not photographed. Text stays text, links stay links, and image quality is untouched, because nothing is re-encoded.

### Do the pages come out in the order I clicked them?

No, in the order they have in the document. Ticking 7, then 3, then 12 gives a file with pages 3, 7 and 12. To change that order, extract first and then run the result through Reorder PDF Pages.

### Can I type a range instead of ticking?

Yes. Typing 2-6, 9 in the box selects those pages, and a number beyond the last page is dropped without complaint. Clicking a page afterwards keeps the ticks and clears the box.

### Does it work on a password-protected PDF?

It does not. Opening one produces a message asking you to remove the password first, and nothing is extracted. Unlock PDF does that when you know the password.
